So Ji-sub, one of South Korea’s most beloved actors, is known for his reserved and private nature, especially when it comes to social media. However, it recently came to light that there is one person he exclusively follows on Instagram, a gesture that speaks volumes about the bond between the two.
The person in question is actor Song Seung-heon, a fellow actor who has been a close friend to So Ji-sub for years.
In a past radio interview, So Ji-sub was asked why he only follows Song Seung-heon on Instagram. His response was simple yet heartfelt, “I haven’t been on social media for long, and Seung-heon hyung debuted with me, so he’s a precious person to me.”
So Ji-sub joked, “I don’t think I’ll follow anyone else,” before sharing that Song Seung-heon hasn’t reciprocated by following him back. “He hasn’t accepted me yet, and he has zero people he follows,” So Ji-sub laughed, revealing a playful dynamic between the two.
Their friendship is well-known in the entertainment world. Song Seung-heon, in a previous interview, opened up about So Ji-sub’s approach to social media. He said, “He’s a deep person, but he’s blunt and doesn’t express much, so I didn’t think he would join, but he did because he had to keep up with the times.”
Song Seung-heon continued, “Ji-sub is like a younger brother to me since we debuted together,” showing just how much they rely on one another. He added, “He’s happily married now, and I’m envious of how well he’s doing.”
In a recent appearance on the variety show “You Quiz on the Block,” Song Seung-heon opened up about his own experiences in the industry. Reflecting on his 20s, he shared, “Back then, acting wasn’t fun for me. Acting was just my job, a way to make money. I thought, ‘If I can just endure today, the appearance fee will come,’ and I’d buy delicious food with it.”
He went on to express that while his work was exhausting, he would feel fine once the filming was over. “I should have enjoyed it more, but at the time, I just saw it as work, and I didn’t feel excited. It was just like, ‘You’re the one who has to do this.’” His honest reflection offers a glimpse into the struggles many actors face behind the scenes.
Despite their different paths in the entertainment industry, the two have remained close throughout the years, and their bond is something many fans admire.
